Work undertaken by Wyrm Groundworks:

  • -Drainage

    • We can excavate drainage channels with laser precision falls for better removal of unwanted water and anything else that needs draining away.

  • -Utility Trenching

    • Compact excavation for water pipes, electrical cables and other underground services, particularly useful where access is limited.

  • -Shed & Garden Room Bases

    • Don’t put your shed straight onto the grass. Give it a proper base to rest on. this will increase the longevity and usability of the shed or garden room.

  • -Driveway Preparation

    • All good driveways start with a good base. the right shape to a driveway can mean the difference between a nice clear driveway and getting out into a puddle every day after work.

  • -Stump Removal & Grinding

    • Sometimes trees stumps can’t be left in the corner of the garden where they were chopped down 5 years ago. because that’s where the shed needs to go. sometimes it’s just plain annoying to mow round. that’s when Wyrm Groundworks can come in and either dig them out and remove them entirely or grind them down so they are no longer in the way.

  • -Improving Waterlogged Gardens

    • From waterlogged gardens to land drainage, Wyrm Groundworks can excavate and prepare drainage runs to help move unwanted water away effectively

  • -Site Clearance

    • Wyrm Groundworks can remove that old shed or other items that need removing. We can also help with the next steps once it is gone.

  • -Ground Levelling

    • Ground preparation and leveling for patios, paths, sheds, garden rooms, driveways, hardstandings and other projects.

A flat path was needed as people were slipping over walking up and down the existing bank.

Past Projects

Explore some of our past work,

A backyard patio area under construction, with a gravel and dirt ground, wooden framing for a new deck or patio space, surrounded by lush green bushes and trees. There is a brick house wall with a vine growing on it and a sliding glass door leading inside.
Backyard patio with new concrete slab, brick house with wooden and glass doors, windows, and garden pots with plants.

The Problem:

The doorway was a big step down into a muddy puddle on a thin layer of gravel.

The Work:

We started with digging out a nice level area which was partly filled with gravel and compacted to make it strong. We then made a wooden form to fill with concrete to match the existing concrete driveway with a very slight slope to allow water to run off rather than pool. the concretes texture was matched to the existing path and over time it will look as one. there was also a small shed pad on the corner built of an existing curb stone as the customers request.

The Result:

A smart and clean entrance to the house. Mud is no longer dragged into the house from a big puddle right in the doorway. a happy customer and a happy house.

A small excavator parked on a dirt path by a river, with trees and overcast sky in the background.
A yellow mini excavator on a dirt patch near a body of water, with trees and cloudy sky in the background

The Problem:

Lots of rough ground ,weeds, brambles and self seeded saplings had built up so much that the lake was not even visible.

The Work:

The area was cleared out and the waste removed. A flat platform was then made.

The result:

Instead of having to scramble across uneven ground and down a bank while tripping over weeds and brambles above head height, the flat and level platform can now be grassed and used to enjoy views of the lake or even some fishing.

Past Projects

A small wooden cabin with a metal roof surrounded by green bushes and trees, with a white travel trailer in the background, in a lush outdoor setting.
A small yellow excavator digging a hole in a backyard garden, surrounded by dirt piles and construction tape, with trees and bushes in the background.
A dirt path with green grass on both sides, trees with sparse foliage, and a clear blue sky in the background.
A green lawn with trees, bushes, and two small red buildings with metal roofs. The sky is partly cloudy with patches of blue.

The Project:

Making an area suitable for a couple of shepherds huts.

The Work:

A large soak away was added along with a french drain as this area held water in the winter. a couple of trees were removed to make way for the second shepherds hut. The roots were also dug up to allow for drainage channels to be added and utility trenches for water and electric.

A couple of pads were then dug to make solid bases for the huts so that the wheels would not sink over time. It was then all tidied up and grassed or graveled.

The Result:

The Shepherds hut is currently being rented out to paying customers who are not even aware of what is going on under the ground. They just know they are in a beautiful spot and things just work. And no more standing water in the winter.
